A Day Off

I’ve enjoyed my third day off since Memorial Day. (But who’s counting?)

I spent much of it on my bicycle.

The most beautiful road bike in Virginia

I rode 52 miles in Surry and Sussex Counties, Virginia, to preview a ride I’ll lead on July 18 for the Williamsburg Area Bicylists.

Favorite sighting on the ride: a Pentecostal church with this on the sign: “Give your heart to God, and God will satisfy your heart’s deepest desire.”

Directly across the road from the church sign, parked in a driveway, was a Chevrolet Corvette with a “For Sale” sign!!

Coincidence?

Or did the owner of the car ask the church to put that slogan on the sign?

Or — was that house across the road the parsonage — and is it the pastor trying to sell the car?
