The Lutheran Singers
Led by Pastor Willetta Heising, this sing-along program continues to
be enthusiastically received and appreciated by all at the Dominion
Village Nursing Home. Often, the words and music of familiar hymns are
remembered by the elderly long after other things are forgotten. The
half-hour-long program includes singing a variety of hymns and a brief
homily by Pastor Willetta about everyday life.
The Lutheran Hymn Singers have undergone several transformations. At
first, the Lutheran Ladies were all from St. Stephen. When King of Glory
Church began, the program became a joint ELCA-Missouri Synod event and
still is! Now joined by several men, and supported by the time and talent
of Michael Price playing the piano, the program is now called The Lutheran
Singers.
The group usually meets the last Thursday in each month and welcomes
all interested people to show up at Dominion Village. Love for your
neighbor, rather than a perfect voice, is all that is required. For
more information, talk to Willetta Heising at 253-0740
